New Feature

New Feature: Revamped analytics dashboard with checkout insights and customer segment drilldowns

The Analytics dashboard has been rebuilt with a new Funnel Analysis surface for understanding checkout behaviour end-to-end, and customer-segment drilldowns that let Pro and Enterprise merchants view every metric for a specific cohort instead of all customers.

Watch the walkthrough: New Checkout Analytics — Segmentation & Funnel Analysis

Customer segment drilldowns (Pro and Enterprise). Every metric and chart on the dashboard can now be filtered by customer cohort — All customers, Guests, Registered customers, or any segment you've defined in Shopify. Pick one from the segment selector and the whole dashboard rebuilds for just that cohort.

You can also keep multiple cohorts open at once. Adding a segment loads it in the background while you keep working; an indicator on the row shows when it's ready, and switching between ready cohorts is instant. Pro and Enterprise plans include this; Starter and Growth merchants can browse the segment list to see what's available but the dashboard always shows All customers.

Funnel Analysis tab. A new tab dedicated to "where are customers dropping off?" pulls together:

  • Checkout funnel — Started → Reached shipping → Completed checkout, with per-step drop-off counts anchored to the start of the funnel so the numbers stay non-negative even when express checkouts skew the middle step.
  • Time to complete checkout — a distribution from Fastest to Slowest (with the exact percentile shown on hover) plus a daily "time-to-complete over time" line chart.
  • Payment methods — horizontal bar chart of share by method, with a percentage-point trend chip on each bar comparing to the previous period.
  • What affects conversion — shipping-cost and cart-size impact on conversion rate as side-by-side bar charts.

Reorganised Overview tab. Headline checkout metrics (Sessions, Conversion rate of your checkout, Time to complete checkout) now sit above a clearly separated section that shows how Checkout Components itself moved the needle — Conversion rate of your upsells, % of orders with upsells, Total upsell revenue, AOV increase, Add to cart rate, Total orders with upsells, Total products upsold, and the AOV-vs-upsell-price heatmap, all in one place.

Previous-period comparisons everywhere. Every metric card now carries a sparkline and a trend chip vs. the previous period, and line charts overlay the previous period as a dashed comparison series so you can read change at a glance.

Fallback option. If you'd like to use the previous dashboard, a "Visit legacy analytics" link at the bottom of the page opens it. You can switch between the two freely.

No action is required — opening Analytics from the app navigation lands you on the new dashboard.
