Sable Bebe Lifts Checkout Completion Rate by 15%
As a boutique baby and nursery label, Sable Bebe uses considered merchandising, customer reviews and helpful product information to build trust and guide customers towards the right products. Together, we developed a checkout strategy that continues this experience at the most important point in the customer journey.
When Sable Bebe partnered with Checkout Components in June 2026, the goal was to bring the same thoughtful customer experience they had created across their storefront into checkout.
Relevance sits at the centre of the strategy. What each customer sees is shaped by what is already in their cart and how close they are to key milestones, allowing Sable Bebe to surface timely upsells, offers and social proof without making the experience feel generic.
From June to September 2026, this approach delivered:
- 15% increase in checkout completion rate
- 3.7% upsell attachment rate
- $41 AUD lift in AOV on orders containing an upsell
Alongside relevant product recommendations, Sable Bebe uses trust badges and customer reviews to give shoppers greater confidence as they complete their purchase. The strategy continues to evolve, with components regularly refined to support new promotions, campaigns and customer behaviours.
“We’ve been incredibly impressed by how quickly Checkout Components has delivered results. Seeing checkout completion increase by 15%, alongside an AOV lift of more than $40 on upsell orders, has been a fantastic outcome”

The Upsell Strategy
Our approach was to establish a strong baseline, understand how customers responded and then continue iterating from there.
Checkout-Exclusive Discount Upsells
Sable Bebe’s checkout-exclusive offers are shaped by what is already in the customer’s cart. When someone selects a newborn essential, for example, they will be offered 50% off a baby journal as a relevant milestone add-on.
For new parents building their newborn essentials kit, the aim is to surface the next logical product they may need, not simply another item. This makes the upsell feel helpful and considered, while giving customers an added incentive to add to their order.

Free Shipping Upsell
When a customer is below the free shipping threshold, they are shown how close they are and encouraged to add another item to qualify. Once they reach the threshold, the experience shifts from free shipping messaging to relevant product recommendations.
Rather than creating these product pairings from scratch, Sable Bebe uses metafields to bring its existing complementary-product logic into checkout. The thoughtful merchandising already built into its product pages can therefore continue working at checkout.
Sable Bebe’s upsell strategy has achieved a 3.7% attachment rate and a $41 AUD lift in AOV on orders containing an upsell. It shows the value of presenting the right offer at the right moment, based on what is most relevant to each customer.
The Components Building Confidence
Customer Reviews
Sable Bebe brings social proof into checkout by displaying product-specific reviews for selected hero products, including the lounger and nursing pillow.
When one of these products is added to the cart, customers see reviews relating to that exact item rather than a generic storefront rating. It places relevant reassurance close to the final purchase decision, helping customers feel more confident in the product they have chosen.
For a baby and nursery brand, where product quality and trust carry particular weight, this kind of targeted social proof can play an important role in giving parents the confidence to complete their order.

Trust Badges
The trust badges reinforce three important messages: free shipping, 45-day easy returns and Sable Bebe’s reputation as a brand trusted by Australian families. Each one addresses a potential point of hesitation and gives customers additional reassurance before they place their order.
“What’s been surprising is how collaborative the experience has been. Alex, Blake and the team didn’t simply set everything up and leave us to it. We catch up regularly to review what the data is telling us, test new ideas and refine the experience together. It genuinely feels like they’re as invested in getting this right for our customers as we are.”
Where To Next?
We’re proud to support the team behind this much-loved Australian brand and thrilled with the early results from a checkout strategy now spanning more than 14 complementary components.
What makes the partnership work is that Sable Bebe approaches checkout in the same way we do: as an experience to keep testing and improving, not something to set and forget.
The next step is to use A/B testing to identify which components and offers are having the greatest impact across different customer segments. This will give the team an even clearer view of what is working as they head into Black Friday, and where the next opportunities may be.
