Scheduled A/B tests now start and end automatically. When you schedule a test with a future start date, it will activate on its own when the date arrives -- and when the end date is reached, the test will complete automatically too.
Previously, scheduling a test set a reminder-like status but still required you to be around when the start date arrived. Now, the system checks every 4 hours and handles the transitions for you:
- Scheduled tests activate on time: If you scheduled a test to start on Monday, it will begin running automatically on Monday. You do not need to log in or press any buttons.
- Active tests complete on time: When your test's end date passes, the test is automatically marked as completed and stops running in the checkout. Your results are preserved for review.
- Timezone-aware: The system uses your store's timezone to determine when dates start. If your store is set to New York time, a test scheduled for April 10 will start at midnight Eastern Time on April 10.
This means you can set up a test days or weeks in advance, configure your start and end dates, and trust that the test will run for exactly the period you specified -- without any manual intervention.
