Upsell components can now recommend your store's best selling products, with no product picking, collections, or integrations required. The upsell source picker has also been redesigned as a clearer list.
What's new. When choosing how an upsell sources its products, there is a new Best sellers option alongside Manual, Collections, and Automatic. Select it and your component automatically shows your store's top selling products, ranked by Shopify's own best-selling order and kept up to date as sales trends change. There is nothing to configure: no products to pick and no integration to connect.
How it works. Control how many products display with the "Number of products" setting in Appearance and settings (up to 20). Best sellers respects all your existing controls: hidden products, tags, types and vendors are excluded, and products already in the customer's cart are skipped and replaced with the next best seller, unless you have "Recommend same products" switched on. Because it does not depend on the cart contents, it works on every checkout, even when Shopify AI has no recommendations to offer.
A clearer source picker. With more sources to choose from, the "Upsell source" window is now a vertical list instead of a grid. Each source shows its icon, name and description on one row, with plan and integration badges inline, making it easier to scan and compare.
Plan availability. Best sellers is available on the Growth plan and above, matching Automatic recommendations, and applies to universal (V3) upsell components.
Existing setups unchanged. Your current components keep their existing sources and continue to work exactly as before. No action is needed on your end.
