New Feature

New Feature: Dynamic field on product recommendations

Product recommendations can now show an extra line of information underneath each product's title and above its price: static text, a product metafield value, the product type, or the product vendor.

What's new. Open any upsell component's Appearance and settings modal and you'll find a new Dynamic field option under Appearance. Choose what to display on every recommended product:

  • Static text: the same line on every product, e.g. "Limited edition" or "Ships within 24 hours".
  • Metafield: the value of a product metafield you specify by namespace and key, e.g. a material, an award, or a care note. Each product shows its own value; products without a value show nothing.
  • Product type: each product's type, e.g. "Moisturiser".
  • Product vendor: each product's brand or vendor name.

How it works. The field renders in checkout on compact product cards, all showcase card styles, and inside the product details window. The live preview shows your static text, real product types and vendors where available, and a placeholder for metafields (actual values render in checkout).

One thing to check for metafields. The metafield you reference must be exposed to the Storefront API in your metafield definition, otherwise it won't resolve in checkout.

Existing setups unchanged. The dynamic field defaults to None, so nothing changes on your existing components until you switch it on. No action is needed on your end.
