New Feature: Upsell discounts that apply only when conditions are met

An upsell discount can now apply only when the cart or customer meets conditions you set, such as a free gift once the cart is over a set amount.

What's new. In the upsell editor's discount settings, When does the discount apply? offers two choices:

• Always: every product added from the component is discounted, as before.
• Only when conditions are met: the discount applies only when your conditions match, for example cart subtotal, customer tags or the products in the cart.

Conditions are built with the same rule builder as display rules.

How it works. Conditions are checked at checkout against the rest of the cart. Products added from the upsell itself never count towards their own condition, so a gift can't qualify itself. If a condition can't be checked, the discount is not applied, so it never reaches shoppers you meant to exclude.

Example. Offer a free tote bag in a checkbox upsell, discounted 100%, only when the cart subtotal is over $150.

Your existing upsells are unchanged. Every existing discount keeps applying always. No action is needed on your end.
