New Feature: Age verification with GBG greenID in checkout

Checkout Components can now use GBG greenID to verify that a customer is 18 or over before they order selected age-restricted products in Shopify checkout.

Built for restricted-product checkouts. The integration is designed for merchants selling selected bladed and other age-restricted products online in Australia and New Zealand. The current Checkout Components setup accepts Australian-issued identity documents only.

How it works. Apply the check to selected products or collections. The customer gives consent and submits their identity details in checkout. GBG greenID checks those details, and an order that requires verification stays blocked until the 18+ check succeeds.

Setup and coverage. Age verification is available on request for Enterprise merchants using Shopify Plus. It requires a GBG greenID account and assisted, store-by-store onboarding. Document coverage, product rules, and retailer obligations should be reviewed for each market before launch.
