Enhancement: Express checkouts now count in your analytics
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal Express checkouts are now included in your sessions, completion rate and funnel, so your dashboard sits in line with what Shopify reports.
What changed. Express checkouts skip the first step of checkout, so they never produced a "checkout started" event. Because most dashboard metrics were anchored to that event, express checkouts were invisible to them, and on stores where wallets are popular that was a large share of completed checkouts going uncounted. Sessions, completions, completion rate, the funnel, payment methods, shipping impact and the component and product drilldowns now all include them.
What you will notice. Your session and completion counts step up from the date this took effect, and your completion rate moves closer to the figure in your Shopify reports. This is a change in what is being counted rather than a change in your checkout, so treat any comparison that spans the change date with care.
Where to see it. A What's new card in the analytics sidebar carries this note beside your charts, so a step change in a line always has its explanation next to it.
Existing setups. There is nothing to configure, and your components and checkout are unaffected.
